Interpreters work in soundproof booths equipped with translation equipment. These booths are often located away from the main room to minimize distractions.
Speakers use microphones to transmit their speech to interpreters. There are different types of microphones, such as tabletop microphones or handheld microphones, depending on the needs of the event.
Event participants wear headsets to listen to simultaneous translation in their language. Each participant can select the language in which they wish to listen to the translation.
The sound of the speakers' voices is sent to the interpreters through an audio transmission system. The interpreters then simultaneously translate the speech into the language chosen by the participants, who can listen to the translation through their headphones.
Interpreters use a control console to manage microphone volume, select audio channels, and adjust other audio settings to ensure smooth translation.
